Spider ST1 link to older firmware
We updated our firmware to v1.2.2 today on our Spider ST1's and now our volume is barely registering, you have to scream into the mic. We are looking for a link to an older firmware and found this on an older thread where others had the same issue but the link is no longer available. Does anyone have one they can share? We looked on Device Manager but there is no option to browse for files, it just shows that we are running version 1.2.2.

ello,
It sounds like you're experiencing a volume issue after updating the firmware on your Spider ST1 to v1.2.2. Unfortunately, since older firmware versions are often not available directly from the Device Manager, it's important to follow a few steps to address the issue:
1. Try Resetting the DeviceA factory reset can help resolve software-related issues, including problems that arise after a firmware update.
To reset your Spider ST1, follow the instructions in the manual, or hold the power button for 10 seconds until you hear the reset confirmation sound.
2. Check for Firmware Rollback Options
Sena Device Manager does not currently provide an option to roll back firmware to an older version. However, you can try contacting Sena Support directly to inquire if they can provide you with a link to the previous firmware version (v1.1.0 or earlier) for your Spider ST1.
Visit Sena's official support page or reach out to their customer service to request this.
3. Check Volume Settings
After the update, make sure the volume settings have not been changed accidentally. Some firmware updates may adjust the default volume levels. Try adjusting the volume through the Sena Device Manager or Sena Connect app.
Ensure that the microphone sensitivity is set correctly in the Device Manager or app.
4. Investigate Mic and Speaker Issues
Check if the microphone and speakers are functioning properly. A change in volume could indicate a mismatch or a problem with the connection between the components.Try using the intercom on another helmet to see if the issue persists.
Also, verify that no dust or debris is blocking the microphone or speaker areas.
5. Contact Sena Support
If you are unable to get an older firmware version through Device Manager or Sena’s website, Sena Support can help you either downgrade to the previous version or provide more targeted troubleshooting steps for the volume issue.
Sena Support is available through their website or by phone/email.
Summary of Actions:
Factory reset the Spider ST1 to clear any settings that may have been changed during the update.
Contact Sena Support to ask for the older firmware version or a direct link to it.
Adjust volume settings through the app or device manager and check for microphone or speaker issues.
Contact Sena if the problem persists to seek further support or a firmware rollback.
Let me know how it goes or if you need further assistance!0 -
I ran into problems after updating my Sena 50S - the music sharing got all weird where I couldn't share in Mesh mode anymore (it allowed me to send a music share request but my partner couldn't accept it). I had a heck of a time figuring out how to downgrade it back to a working firmware version. After going back to version 1.3.1 it worked again as it used to. I saw how hard it was to find the old firmware and installers, so I went full nerd mode and put them all on a website. So here's the instructions, installers, and all the firmware I could grab from Sena. Hope this helps, cheers! https://www.joegaebel.com/sena-firmware-archive/
