Sena SRL-MESH update lost mesh channels
Hi everyone, just bought my second sena SRL-mesh and after installation asked me to do an update which I did. After the update I realised that instead of 8 mesh channels I have now 6 channels! Is this an update gone wrong??? Please help

It sounds like the update on your Sena SRL-Mesh changed the number of available Mesh Intercom channels from 8 to 6. This could be due to firmware changes that modify how Mesh channels are configured or reduce the total number for certain features or optimizations.
Possible Reasons for the Issue:
-
Firmware Update Change:
- Sena occasionally releases firmware updates that adjust functionality. The reduction from 8 to 6 channels may have been intentional to improve performance, streamline the interface, or enable compatibility with new features.
-
Update Issue:
- If the update process encountered an error or the wrong firmware version was applied, it might have caused unintended changes.
Steps to Troubleshoot:
-
Check Firmware Version:
- Use the Sena Device Manager or Sena Utility App to verify the current firmware version on your SRL-Mesh.
- Visit the Sena Firmware History Page on their website to check if the latest update documentation mentions this change.
-
Reinstall Firmware:
- Re-download the firmware using the Sena Device Manager and reinstall it to ensure the update was applied correctly.
-
Factory Reset:
- Perform a factory reset on the SRL-Mesh:
- With the unit powered on, hold the Phone Button, Jog Dial, and Mesh Button together for about 10 seconds until the unit resets.
- Reconnect and reconfigure the device.
- Perform a factory reset on the SRL-Mesh:
-
Contact Sena Support:
- If the problem persists, contact Sena Support directly. Provide details such as your device’s serial number and firmware version.
Workaround:
- If you need more channels, try pairing your other Sena devices in Open Mesh Mode rather than Group Mesh Mode. Open Mesh doesn’t require channel selection and allows broader communication.
This issue may not be a malfunction but rather an intentional adjustment in the firmware. Sena Support should be able to confirm whether this change was expected and provide guidance.

Thank you for your answer.
Open mesh does not work for me as i am part for an Advanced Riding Club, when we start i get everyone connecting to me on "Open Mesh", so having a specific channel is perfect.
I will wait for a clarification from sena to see if the channels have been reduced.

Vitor,
Just downloaded SRL3 User Guide v1.2 chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://firmware.sena.com/senabluetoothmanager/UserGuide_SRL3_1.2.0_en_241213.pdf which covers firmware update v1.4. MESH channels reduced from 9 to 6 - no explanation given.

Some SENA's Mesh line products now support Mesh 3.0.
You can use SENA's mobile app to switch between Mesh 3.0 and Mesh 2.0.1 -
