50S Open Mesh Intercom (ch 1) - Breaking/Garbled Voice
I have a 50S and my friend has a Harley Davidson branded Sena 50S. When we ride we always use open mesh channel 1. Very often, when he is speaking, his voice is garbled and breaking up even though he is 10 feet in front of me. I believe this happens more often at higher speeds (>45 mph). We both have Audio Multitasking turned on and our sensitivity is set at 1 (lowest sensitivity).
I have a 2024 Road Glide and I pair my 50S and my Apple iPhone 13 Pro directly to my motorcycle. He has a 2021 CVO Road Glide with a WHIM (Wireless Headset Interface module). I thought mesh is capable to 1.2 miles? Any help would be appreciated.

@bitlife The issues you're experiencing with garbled and breaking audio over Mesh intercom between the Sena 50S units could stem from several factors. Here’s how you can address the problem:
1. Extend Antennas: Ensure both antennas are fully deployed.
2. Turn Off Audio Multitasking: Disable this feature on both headsets and test again.
3. Update Firmware: Ensure both headsets have the latest updates.
4. Reset Pairing: Factory reset both units and re-pair.
5. Wind Noise: Check mic position, wind covers, and helmet insulation.
6. Test Without WHIM: Disconnect your friend’s WHIM to see if it’s causing interference.Mesh works up to 1.2 miles in ideal conditions, but interference and wind noise at high speeds can degrade quality.

6. Test Without WHIM: Disconnect your friend’s WHIM to see if it’s causing interference.Mesh intercom doesn't need neither pairing with other headset nor with WHIM. Mesh intercom is a direct communication between headsets. I suspect that the above can't have impact on the speech quality. I would also test with other channels and maybe private mesh group.

@smashy road. You try the following:
- Check and adjust the distance: Move closer to other devices.
- Change location: Move to a different location to minimize interference.
- Restart the device: Sometimes a restart can help resolve temporary issues.
- Contact technical support: If the problem persists, consider contacting the manufacturer or technical support.
