Sena pi constant blue led - nothing else
Hi, bought a pair of sena pi.
Went for a ride, caught in rain. Wasn't using my Sena pi on the ride however,
but when i got home - a constant blue led light.
I did discover the rubber grommet was not covering the usb-c.
I disclosed this to my dealer.
Won't do anything and will not be recognised by the Sena device manager.
Unfortunately, this isnt my first Sena Pi to stop working the first stopped working for
no reason and was replaced by my dealer.
Is my sena pi repairable or will I have to buy another?
Thanks.

The blue flashing LED indicates a full charge, but it seems the battery may have been damaged. While the device is not waterproof, if it was exposed to water and then immediately charged, it could have shorted the battery, which appears to be the case here.

With both faulty sena pi, it was a CONTINUOUS blue LED - not flashing.
The supposed water damaged Sena pi started working fine yeasterday, now its back the
the CONTINUOUSLY blue led.
What does a continuous blue LED mean?
Are the batteries easy to replace or do they need a technician ?
Thanks.

Hey, sorry to hear about the trouble with your Sena Pi! It sounds frustrating, especially since this isn’t the first time you’ve had issues. The constant blue LED light usually indicates the device is stuck in pairing mode or has some kind of software or hardware issue. Since you mentioned that the USB-C port was exposed due to the rubber grommet not covering it, that could have led to water damage, especially if you were caught in the rain.
I would suggest trying a few things:
-
Reset the device: Most Sena devices have a reset button or a specific reset procedure (holding down the power button for a certain amount of time). Check the manual or try a long press to see if it helps.
-
Check for firmware updates: If the device isn’t recognized by the Sena Device Manager, it might still be worth checking if you can connect it to a computer via USB-C to see if there’s any software issue you can update.
-
Inspect for water ragdoll hit damage: If the device was exposed to rain without the cover, there could be internal damage. Try gently opening it (if you're comfortable) to check for water inside, but this might void the warranty.
If none of that works, unfortunately, it could be a hardware issue that might not be repairable on your own. Since your dealer already replaced the first one, it might be worth asking for a replacement again, especially if it’s under warranty or if they have any repair services.
Hopefully, you don’t have to buy another one, but if it’s beyond repair, buying a new one might be the only option. Good luck!
