60S Active Noise Cancelling

Hi, I'm Ralph and I have a question about the ANC function on the 60S. Is the ANC only effective for improving the sound of communication or does it generally also reduce the noise level in the helmet? The product advertisement states:
“Additionally, optional Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) earphones are available as a separately sold accessory. These specialized earphones reduce the noise level by approximately 25 dB, protecting your hearing from long-term noise exposure while riding and providing a safer and more comfortable experience.” 
Are these additional earphones required to actively reduce the noise level in the helmet? If so, where can you buy these in-ears and how much do they cost?

  It will be really bad if that is the case, the speakers are one of the features of this product.
  The problem in my opinion is in the microphone design which has a daul direction.
