WAVE Intercom App Now Available!
Hi everyone. Sena has recently released our WAVE Intercom App on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store for everyone to download and we are excited for everyone to try it out. Now that WAVE Intercom is out, we've been getting a lot of questions about it and we wanted to give you some info about how you can use it.
When it was launched, we released the 1st phase of the WAVE Intercom app known as Geo-Based WAVE Intercom.
Geo-Based WAVE Intercom initiates a connection based on your geographic location. Riders within the WAVE Zone, which is a radius of 5 miles (8 km), can connect instantly in a group intercom by double tapping the Mesh Intercom Button. This means that riders need to be within this radius together to start an intercom conversation. Once the intercom is started, users on your Friends List will remain connected regardless of distance. However, those not on your Friends List will be disconnected if they move more than 6 miles (10 km) away.
Using the Geo-Based WAVE Intercom is easy and similar to Sena's Open Mesh Intercom which instantly connects anyone within a normal range of 1 mile. The main advantage of Geo-Based WAVE Intercom is that you will never lose your connection to your friends, regardless of how far away you are.
The limitation of Geo-Based WAVE Intercom is that all of the riders need to be inside of the WAVE Zone together to start a group intercom.
Sena plans on releasing the 2nd phase of WAVE Intercom, called Friends-Based WAVE Intercom, in early April. This feature will allow for private group intercom conversations with anyone on your Friends List, regardless of distance. If you want to start an intercom conversation with a friend who is more than 5 miles (8 km) away then you will need to use Friends-Based WAVE Intercom.
We hope you enjoy using WAVE Intercom to talk to seamlessly talk and connect with your friends using the new standard in motorcycle communication.

Hi Sena,
How it works ... Imagine 6 users are in Open Mesh channel 1, 6 in channel 2 and 6 in channel 3. They all connects to the same Wave zone and can speak to each other. Now the connection to cellular network (internet) breaks. The users can then only communicate within the channels where they were connected before, or ?

Raphael Yes but also keep in mind that everyone can create a Group Mesh so that they can all communicate with each other at the same time and can switch back and forth between Open Mesh and Group Mesh.
