MeshPort Red
I purchased the MeshPort Red, which has Firmware v1.4.3 and uses Mesh 2.0 technology. On our helmet communication devices, we have the Sena K30, which was automatically updated to Mesh 3.0 after the latest firmware upgrade.
After this update, the MeshPort Red no longer works unless the communication is manually switched from Mesh 3.0 to Mesh 2.0.
Will the MeshPort Red receive a firmware update that enables Mesh 3.0 support? If so, when can we expect it?
Thank you and best regards.

I have bought, 2 weeks ago, 3 x Sena 60s + 2 x 50s couple of years ago. Yeah, that's a lot of money in Sena products!
I bought, this Monday, the Meshport Red and I've found out that it's not working with Mesh 3.0.
So a part of the group will need to modify their Mesh 3.0 to Mesh 2.0 to be heard all together.
When I put those Sena 60s to Mesh 2.0, the Meshport Red works, but as soon as I put in Mesh 3.0 those 60s, It's not working anymore.
I'm a huge fan of Sena products, will the Meshport Red is gonna be soon updated to Mesh 3.0 please?
Thanks Sena!

I have the same issue. Currently, the only way to make MeshPort Red work is by manually switching the devices to Mesh 2.0 in the mobile app. As soon as you switch back to Mesh 3.0, it stops working. Hopefully, Sena will release an update soon to support Mesh 3.0!

I have opened a ticket for this issue.
Here is the answer:
Hi Michel,
Thank you for reaching out and for your kind words about SENA! We're thrilled to hear that you're enjoying the technology and that it’s been helping with your communication needs.
Regarding your question about the Mesh port Red and Mesh 3.0 compatibility, we appreciate your feedback and understand the importance of having the latest technology work seamlessly with your devices. Currently, the Mesh port Red is designed to work with the
existing features, and we are always exploring ways to improve our products. However, we don’t have a specific timeline for when Mesh 3.0 will be supported on the Meshport Red at this moment.
We recommend keeping an eye on future firmware updates, as we continually strive to enhance compatibility and functionality. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out.
Thanks again for your support, and we’re glad to be a part of your communication setup!Rain

Thanks for following up on this issue. However, this response from Sena is quite disappointing. The fact that there’s no timeline for Mesh 3.0 support on MeshPort Red is a big problem for those of us who rely on this device for group communication.
Right now, we are forced to downgrade our devices to Mesh 2.0 via the app just to make it work, which is neither practical nor user-friendly. A firmware update should be released as soon as possible to either support Mesh 3.0 or, at the very least, allow switching between Mesh 3.0 and Mesh 2.0 directly on the device.
This is an essential feature that needs to be addressed urgently, and we hope Sena prioritizes it!

Yeah, I totally agree with you Zeljko.
I don’t understand why, at least they should say the reason.
They are currently upgrading a bunch of other Sena products to Mesh 3.0, why the Meshport Red wouldn't be too?
Imagine asking other riders to downgrade their device to Mesh 2.0 to be able to speak with them, it makes no sense.

Hi Michel,
Thank you for your feedback, and I completely understand your concern. It certainly can be challenging when you have a large group of riders and need everyone to be on the same mesh version to ensure seamless communication and recording with your GoPro and 60S.
We are constantly working on improvements and appreciate your input regarding the need for Mesh 3.0 compatibility on the Meshport Red. While I don’t have a specific timeline for the upgrade, we are actively exploring ways to enhance the functionality of our products,
and your feedback is valuable in guiding these future updates.
Please stay tuned for upcoming firmware updates, and we’ll be sure to keep you informed about any new developments. In the meantime, if there’s anything else I can assist you with, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thanks again for your support!Rain
Another reply to them today
Hi Rain,
Thank you for your reply. I appreciate the time you've taken to address this matter.I wanted to share some feedback regarding the Meshport Red and its compatibility with Mesh 3.0.
As enthusiasts in the motovlogging community, many of us were drawn to Sena products, particularly Meshport Red, based on the promotion that it works seamlessly with GoPro.
However, the lack of compatibility with Mesh 3.0 is now creating challenges for us. Being unable to chat with others who have upgraded to Mesh 3.0 makes the experience less user-friendly.
Additionally, as buyers of high-end Sena products, having to downgrade to Mesh 2.0 undermines the value of our investment. If there are no plans for an update to Mesh 3.0, perhaps you could release a "beta" version of Mesh 3.0, allowing us to test its functionality even if there are occasional bugs.
Thank you for considering these suggestions - we appreciate Sena’s commitment to innovation and look forward to any updates you may have.
Best regards,

Hi Rain,
Thanks for the reply.
I keep thinking positively, I'll check every 2-3 days from now to see if there is a new firmware for the Meshport Red. :)
I really hope it will come very soon. :)
Have a nice day,
Best regards,

Exactly, Michel! It makes no sense that other Sena devices are getting Mesh 3.0 updates, yet the MeshPort Red is left behind. If Sena can’t provide immediate Mesh 3.0 support, at least they should allow switching between Mesh 3.0 and Mesh 2.0 directly on the device instead of forcing users to downgrade through the app.
Many of us rely on this device for seamless group communication, and this limitation is a major inconvenience. Sena needs to address this ASAP!
