Sena EVO R1 LED no longer working
After updating to firmware 2.2 the LED on the back of the helmet cannot turned on anymore, no matter if the button is pressed or the by using the app. When I press the button, the connection to the mobile phone is disconnected, and the helmet seems to be no longer working and eventually is turned off.
This does happen exactly the same way on my wifes helmet, also EVO R1.

Das kann ich bestätigen. Gleiches Problem.

The LED on your Sena EVO R1 helmet not working could be due to several reasons, including a drained battery, a faulty connection, or internal damage. First, ensure the helmet is fully charged and try resetting the device by following the manufacturer's instructions capcut pro apk latest version. If the LED still doesn’t function, check for any firmware updates that might address the issue.

Unfortunately, this does not appear to be a hardware physical failure issue, but rather an effect of the firmware update. My helmet is an R2Evo and I am experiencing the same problem as other R1Evo's.Fortunately I had an older version of SENA Device Manager and firmware files left over, so I downgraded it. (This is an example for R2Evo)Manager : v4.4.12 or 14 --> v4.4.8Firmware : v2.2-build5 --> v2.0.7After reverting, the tail light came on and returned to correct operation. When the firmware was brought up to date again, the tail light button now turns off the power. The Pinhole Fault Reset Button on the back does not reset the firmware to the older version, so now if you want to use the tail light, you must get the older version of both.Or wait for a normal version update, but I don't know when that will be.0

This is the exact problem I am having with my R1 EVO helmet. Everything worked fine until I upgraded the firmware to v2.2
Fault Reset did not help. Factory default reset did not help.

@Naru Nireki: I have exactly the same problems with two helmets, and the helmet was fully charged at update. Seems to be a problem of the firmware.

@Naru Nireki can you please share firmware v2.0.7? My problem is that v2.2 also breaks MESH compatibility with ALL older firmware versions. What were they thinking? Perhaps you can email it to me dave@spectrumvoip.com.

@David LeidyThe firmware extension .img file could not be emailed properly with a warning. So I uploaded it to Google Drive along with the old device manager. The firmware is for the R2 Evo.My environment is the Windows version, sorry if you are a Mac user. The latest SENA Device Manager v4.4.14 can only force you to download the latest firmware. If you have an older firmware file and want to revert to that version, you will need to re-install the older SENA Device Manager. It is compressed in rar format because it warns you that it has .exe and .img extensions. Unzip it and use it.I hope it works!0

THANK YOU! I was able to download both files. However, I had already decided to return all 8 of the new helmets that I had updated to v2.2 after Sena support said they cannot be downgraded, and they don't have a fix to make MESH work with older firmware versions. In fact, they were unaware that this problem existed so I gave them all of the details. v2.2 causes the MESH feature, which is the reason these helmets exist, to be incompatible with all older firmware versions, including 2.0.7, and rev1 of the R1 EVO hardware which all of my older helmets have and cannot be updated beyond firmware v1.5(ish).

I returned 8 helmets to Amazon and purchased 8 new ones at the same time to replace them. This time I will not update them beyond 2.0.7! Sena should take down the 2.2 update ASAP, they released it wholly untested.

Naru Nireki Thanks for posting the Google Drive files. I installed the v4.4.9 Device Manager for my R1 EVO and it allowed me to Restore the v2.07 firmware. Everything is working properly again!

Can someone tell me where I can download the 4.4.9 Device Manager version for our R1 EVO helmets and install the v2.07 firmware? We bought two helmets yesterday and also have the same problem with the LED described above. At first, we were very disappointed, but now we are even more annoyed because the problem has obviously been known for a while and Sena isn't doing anything about it or at least rolling back the update or informing customers about the issues. I've also contacted Sena directly. It's unacceptable to download an older version if you buy a new helmet ... We'll probably have to return the helmets. Very sad and annoying.0 -
Thanks to you and everyone else for sharing. I was finally able to restore v2.0.7 and everything works perfectly! I can't tell you how happy I am. Sena was going to make me pay shipping to return my helmet for a warranty claim. Absolutely ridiculous Sena has not come up with a fix and is still allowing people to download a corrupt update. Just unbelievable. Thanks again folks!

Naru Nireki - you're a lifesaver, thank you so much. I can't believe that Sena has released such outrageously unsatisfactory software as v2.2, which makes brand new R2 EVO helmets incompatible with those used by everyone else! No warnings about this before or during the "upgrade" process that they recommend.

There is a new firmware release v2.2.1 that fixes the LED problem.
