Cannot connect to server
I'm trying to update the firmware on my R1 cycle helmet but the Sena Device Manager is not finding the server. It runs to 9% then stops. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks

The first thing to check is the USB-C cable. You are probably using a non-original one. Unfortunately, not every USB cable works properly.
The second thing, turn off / disconnect wireless devices like mouse, keyboard etc.
Even on the original USB cable I have not been able to update the firmware on the company computer (different computers). My guess is that perhaps there is too much contamination with wireless devices.0 -
Thank you for your reply. I have been using the USB- C cable provided to me with the purchase of the R1 helmet.
In addition, I have disabled all anti virus / firewalls and have removed the wireless mouse I normally use.
Still, there is no communication with your server.
I hope this issue can be resolved.
Please respond with any further help/instruction.

If you want, you can look for information regarding updating the USB drivers, but that didn't help in my case.
If you didn't make a mistake when connecting the helmet and you didn't turn it ON (R1 MUST be turned OFF when detecting and updating) then the easiest solution to your problem would be to try using another computer. This may not solve the update problem on your computer, but it will allow you to update the firmware on your helmet.

I had the same problem and tried some of these tips first (without success):
- disabled forced driver signature, reinstalled the software & tried another usb-cable
! But I had an idea and looked up missing software at Updates & Securities in Windows 10:
I found a MediaTek Driver which I downloaded and installed -> Then it worked and the update was succesfully!
Go to:
-> Settings -> Updates & Securities -> show optional updates (beneath searching updates) -> driver updates -> MediaTek Inc. - Ports - 3.0.1511.0 download & install
Try again after that and it will probably work as well even if it shows for a sec "server can't be reached/not connected". Just wait and have faith. =)
