Pairing freewire, a phone, and GPS to an SRL and phone music resume
I have called support and researched this and still do not have a solution. I really do not want to pair my phone to my old GPS via Bluetooth as my phone is new, high quality sound, and my GPS is older. Fine for voice prompts.
I have a non-bluetooth Gold Wing and a Freewire. My helmet has the SRL on the Neotec II. The freewire has the Gold Wing audio connector connected to it, that works, and I get all the bike audio to the SRL.
I have the freewire and my Android Note 8 phone paired to the SRL. It also works. My only issue at that point was when I played music on my phone, (which over-rode the freewire music so that is good) I could pause (or “stop” which is the voice command) it with voice command. However then the freewire music source kicked in and I can never get the phone to “play” again with the Music or Stereo voice command. Is there a way to do that? I am using the right voice commands….it recognizes them, but the resume or play does not happen on the phone. It stays on the freewire and the command does not make it to the phone…..
The other important item is my GPS, a Garmin 765T. When I put the SRL in GPS pair mode (it tells me yup, you are in GPS pair mode) I can go on the garmin, choose “add audio Bluetooth connection” and it does pair. And I can hear the GPS!! But……..once that happens my phone music does not go through to the SRL, it seems like it over-takes the phone pairing and does not allow both to stay paired. Would one of the advanced pairing functions help to force it to low-quality GPS mode?
Support is telling me that the SRL does not support the Bluetooth combination of pairing these 3 things: the freewire, a phone, and a GPS. I cannot find this anywhere in the documentation, is this true??? That just does not seem right….. And I would prefer not to pair the phone to the GPS as I mentioned.
Of course if the GPS was paired as GPS, it would interrupt both my freeware music source and the phone when used as a music source which is what I want.
So the 2 questions:
-can I restart or get my phone to start playing music again after I have voice-commanded it to “stop”, and the SRL has switched to the freewire music source.
-Can I add the GPS as a Bluetooth connected device if I also have a phone paired for high quality stereo and phone use and the freewire paired.
At various times I have been told over the past month to pair the freewire as secondary phone and then as primary....I don't think that is the issue.....the phone is over-riding the Freewire audio as I want which I assume is the difference between how they are paired.
Thanks,
BJB
