Sena 50S Audio Issues
Hi Guys,
Just received my first Sena ever. I'm having issues with my audio though. I play music through my iPhone on Spotify and I thought to myself the music level seems pretty low.. Yes the volume is turned up all the way on both the Sena Unit and the Phone, I even double checked all sound settings in the App.
Now.. the Mesh Audio is much louder. We compared my music volume and my mesh volume (Helmet to helmet conversation with my friends) both playing at different times. The Mesh volume is MUCH louder then the Music volume. I wanted to see if anyone has ran into this issue before.
Also.. is there a way to stop the Music audio from turning down when I talk or the mic catches some wind noise?

Just bought it as well 500EUR and deeply disappointed about the volume, also had the 20S and I bought the 50s only to have a better sound quality when I listen to music but so far its a big fail...
I have not seen or found any solution for this

I am so disappointed with my purchase, since last year I wanted to replace my old Cardo for the newest one.
My friends wanted to go with Sena saying that it was wonderful... unfortunately I am very disappointed with the audio quality and the maximum volume.
Listening to the FM radio in top of 90 Km/h is almost impossible.
a little bit worse via music from the phone but I should have listened to myself and then gone with a cardo.I read some posts here that date back to 2020 so I have very little hope of seeing an update to fix this.
I might keep my sena for the ease of talking with my friends, but it might be the last one my next one will be a cardo again.

It's my 3rd Sena, and last. I can't wait to get rid of this f-ing thing. Support from Sena is completely tone deaf, probably because the device is designed this way and there is nothing they can do. I'll move our riding group to Cardo next time we update our devices

I’m so pissed. Just bought the 50s Harman Kardon and the music volume is shite!!!! Returning it and buying the Cardo

I have the 50s and am experiencing same problems with volume not being as loud as my older 20s. The "Audio boost" and "HD Speaker" is grayed out. Can that be part of the problem?

lol big commotion here.....first Sena ever (50S Harmon Kardon).. was shocked by the low sound, just replaced the speaker right over my hear like i read here (like 1 cm down the helmet original position)..my god the sound is so good and so loud ! i cant even go more than 75% volume ! so cool !

Just got the 50r... everyone said that the harman kardon speakers are so good ..
But compared them to the hd speakers of my gfs 30k... the harman kardon speakers sound is so flat almost wothout bass eventhi i activated bassbost in the equilizer, plus when i listen to music wich has quite a bit bass it really sounds scratchy and noisy not even as clear as the hd speakers from the 30k ...

These are complete junk considering how much they cost. I've been a Sena user since the SMH10, having had the 20 (2 sets), and now the 50s. By god, I wish I had saved this money and got the Cardo instead. The sound on the 50s is so low that unless you have it right against your ear, its almost useless at speed, specially if you are used to having them blast through ear plugs like the smh10 and 20s used to be able to do easily. The 50s are junk, pure and simple. Having them pressing against my ears becomes painful on long rides, so I just leave a bit of space and accept the crappy low volume. What a joke this is. I am just wondering how long this thread will stay alive without Sena's acknowledgement that they f-ed up

Haroldo, fully agree on what you wrote, crap the 50s...i try to use them with in ear headphones I plug into the Sena, gets a bit better but still to low. I bought them because of the Harman speakers but Aliexpress can do it better

The volume is fine for me and actually loud enough .. but the quality is crap :/

Yes lot of functions which they advertise working very bad or not working at all. Have used from 10c to 60s all models. Devices with camera is money to recycling bin, better use insta360 or gopro or you will not use sena record anyway, low quality not stabilized. Loud names like HD, HK or Honda and nothing more.

Another important point is that the 50S is not waterproof.
it's rain-resistant but far from waterproof.
On several occasions, my friend and I have experienced communication problems in heavy rain.
I really regret this purchase.

Under Device Settings, turn Audio Overlay Volume Management to disable — it stops music from dropping when mic activates.
