50S Voice Command Not Working
I have a new 50S and cannot get voice command to work. I have updated to the latest firmware. I know the mic is good as I can initiate an intercom session from an SENA SRL and have a conversation between the 50S and SRL. Any suggestions on a fix? Thanks.

I have the same issue with my 50S, I updated the Firmware to v1.0.8 and I managed to activate the VOICE PROMPT but not the voice commands. yet commands "Hey Siri" it works.

I just tried my wife's 50R new out of the box and same issue. Google command works fine. No luck with "Hey Sena" or "Hello Sena".

I managed to make it work on my 50S. I increase the level of the VOX Sensitivity in the app Sena 50 utility> Device settings> Phone> VOX Sensitivity to level 4 (by default it is suetup at level 3).
NB: you must say the commands without leaving a time lapse between Hey Sena and the command

I noticed my voice command stopped working about 6 months ago. I found a work around to be able to get my phone to acknowledge my commands. Push the phone button and it will activate the phone to allow me to tell Siri what I want. Other than that.... I can't do anything like I should be able to. Makes to be a real pain, when I want to listen to the radio, but I have to pull over to bring up the radio on my phone.

1st, make sure mic is correctly orientated. With boom style the large fin faces away and the small arrow looks at your face.
2nd, say hey see nah, not sin a.3rd, practice voice commands leaving no gap between hey see nah and command and say exactly as page 48 of user manual.
4th, don’t yell. A regular voice volume works best for me.
5th, Speak merican. Just kidding 🤣🤣

Oh and of course make sure voice commands are activated in the app.

Hello, I like the rest have a Sena 50S. Latest FW etc. I can get Siri to work fine. But…Hey Seee naaa just does not work for me. Has anyone discovered anything that works. Thanks.

Alf, are you able to use the boom mic? If so make sure the large fin is pointing away from your mouth. With 1.08 firmware my 50s and 50r are working very well. Also try reset and fault reset, reboot phone and pair it up again.

Hi Chris, yes I can use the boom mic. It is oriented the correct way and I did do the usually thing. Restarts, fresh firmware updates and fault resets. Even have adapted myself to Hey Seee Naaa :)

Play with mic position try corner area of your mouth. Do you have an accent? Could it be tripping the unit up? Some english or scottish dudes might as well be speaking tasminian. Course Im an Okie, you would say the same about me.

Has anyone solve this, or have you all just given up? I'm on firmware v1.0.9.
I've tried all the suggestions above, and various pronunciations of Sena, without any luck. :(
A friend on the 30K has no issues, but I did note that his app has an option to turn voice commands on/off which doesn't seem available on the 50s/r app.

I had the sena 20s
when say "hello sena" they ask to say the command
but in the 50s does not say nothing
we just have to say "hey sena" and the command after that and will work.
sena 50s does not ask to say the command you just have to say the commands.

After testing this morning ignore what the girl did in the 30S video.
There is no hello sena...and get a response.

I got the Sena 50 S and after installing figured the voice commands would not work. I had the Sena 20S Evo previously and had faced similar issues. This time around, i wanted to resolve it.
After looking up on the internet, i figured it has to be Seeena and not Sena ( that worked for me).
Also, the voice command - "Hey Seeena Play Music" - will work if you have a music app open already. May be coz if there are many music apps it does not know which one to open and play.

I'll assume everyone on this forum knows this by now, but I haven't seen it posted anywhere.
Due to the chip shortage, SENA began shipping out products with different chipsets. These new chipsets are incapable of voice commands from the product itself, as well as FM radio.
As prior posters have put, "Ok google", and Siri will still work through bluetooth, but "Hello Sena" will not work, nor will they be able to upgrade it in the future through firmware updates.

Dave I saw a SENA press release saying there is a chip shortage and they will discontinue fm on the cheaper models. For 50 series we still get voice commands via "Hey Sena" not hello sena and Fm. It took some time but my 50r running v1.0.9 is very stable and works very well. I just purchased a 50s harmon kardon and voice commands work even better, partly due to the mic being more sensitive and non directional. for the older 50 series make sure the boom mic has the fin facing away from your lips.

Hi everyone.
I got the Sena 50c yesterday and still have issues with the voice commands . It understands only 'Hey Google' that is all.
Also tried many different accents like Seeeena or See-nah but no way.
Also firmware update always makes me crazy that while loading suddenly it stops and says failed.
Hope to figure it out.0
