Trouble Pairing an R1 with an iPhone 11 +

I just purchased two R1 helmets.  I followed the manual and pressed the center button 10 seconds, and expected to hear "Configuration Menu" but instead i get "Intercom Pairing".  I tried following the manual for Intercom Pairing, but that does not work.  The only thing i can do with the headsets in the helmets is listen to FM radio.  Is there a manual that is paired to the helmets?

  Hi Patrick Hunt We recommend connecting the R1 to your computer and use the Sena Device Manager to re-install the firmware on the R1 so that it can be operated properly.
