SMH-20 Bluetooth Intercom Disconnects in Heavy Rain Firmware Fix?
Hello Sena community, hope you're all doing well!
I’m Mark Pousee, and I’ve been getting intermittent disconnections with my Sena SMH-20 Bluetooth Intercom whenever I ride in heavy rain. The audio cuts out after about 15–20 minutes and returns soon after, but it interrupts the ride and is pretty frustrating.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
- Updated to the latest firmware via Sena Device Manager.
- Removed and re-paired my helmet headset with the paired device.
- Checked the helmet fit, both unit and mic seem snug and properly sealed.
- Cleaned the unit and charging contacts, with no water ingress detected.
Has anyone experienced the same issue? Did a particular firmware version resolve it, or is there another fix—like a sealing tweak or a software setting—that helped in wet conditions? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
