Sena 50S static noise
I have a Sena 50S and have used it several times since July. Last time out I connected to a friend who also has a 50S and i experience loud static crackling noise. It happens even when no one is talking. I am not connect to any bluetooth device at all. Just the other headset. My friends 50S worked fine and he could not hear the static cracking. It is really loud and makes the unit unuseable. We tried restarting the unit, reconnecting, updating the firware, full battery power, and it is still happening. Does anyone have any idea why this might be or how to fix it.

My 50's are doing the same thing. Went back to two 20's and they worked fine. What is the problem, Sena ??

I never heard from Sena on this issue. I did some trouble shooting and my 50s worked fine on other helmet clamps. So sucks I had to spend $100 to get it working again. All is good now though

THANKS for your reply Dan! Two days ago (March 30th, 2023) when we tried our old 20's, we put them on our usual helmets and they worked fine, so I don’t think it’s the helmet clamp. On the return from lunch, we put the 50's back on and terrible static returned. I have two helmets, next ride I will try the other helmet; as I’m trying every combination I can think of to solve the problem. Had no problems with Sena 20's, Sena 30's, and 50's up to about February 2023.

My 50S started doing the same thing summer of 2023. They are unusable. Static is so bad , you can’t hear or talk. No solution yet.
