Sena 50S and Insta360 One R
I`d like to connect my Sena 50S with my Insta360 One R. I know that there isn`t a direct way so I thought to do the following:
- Buy an Sena SHM5
- Cut the headphone cable and connect to a jack plug
- Connect the SHM5 to my camera by an adapter
- Connect the SHM5 to the 50S by bluetooth-intercom
What do you think of it? Could it work?

Hi Patrik. We don't recommend modifying the SMH5 if you do buy one. However, this may work even though we cannot guarantee it but because you want to use the SMH5, you will not be recording audio in HD because the SMH5 does not support it. What would be better as an alternative (if this is possible with this camera) would be to get a Y-splitter and two wired microphones. Then, connect the Y-splitter to the microphone adapter for the Insta360, plug the 2 microphones into each of the other ports on the Y-splitter then place 1 microphone near 50S speakers and the other near the microphone for the 50S so that you will record your voice that you're speaking into the 50S and the audio that you hear on the 50S speakers to the camera. This way you don't have to modify anything. You can refer to this video here https://youtu.be/2PGDYWiTdi8 and the section about using a Y-splitter and 2 microphones for some more info about this type of setup.
