Sena Outrush firmware update
I am not able to connect my helmet to my phone as it needs a firmware update.
If I connect it directly to my PC via a USB2 port, like the software says, it seems to recognize the helmet, but I can't go any further.
I also can't turn it on when its connected via USB. It just beeps a lot.
Anybody managed to get this POS to work?

Looks like they might be doing an update to the site. Got this when chatting with an agent. "Just that the site is undergoing updates at the moment so the link may not work. You can try this after 24-48 hours."

I've got the same hassle. Has anyone managed to figure it out?

I'm experiencing the same issue. I just bought this Outrush R from Harley-Davidson, Iphone Sena app says I have to update to 1.2 firmware, current firmware is 1.1.1, I'm unable to update via the Device Manager from my Windows because it can't detect/open the USB via Device Manager...

richard.leduc Odd thing is that the 1.2 firmware doesn't exist yet for the OutRush-R. No trace in the firmware changelist and no hint on the archive.org folder here: https://archive.org/details/sena-firmware-files
So even if it get detected you are unable to satisfy the app. Seems like the app-developers don't talk with the firmware guys.

Fair enough Tom Gomer, however still does not excuse the fact that the Windows Device Manager 4.3.3 is unable to connect to my helmet, as well, if the firmware does not exist, damn they should remove it from the Sena Iphone Utility to allow me full control of my helmet...
IMO, I think the helmet name accuretly reflects whats happenning... It's was "Rushed" :( ...

What USB port are you using at your computer? One with a blue insert or a black one? USB3 (the blue ones) is picky for some users here for some reason.

Its a Surface Pro 6 with 1 USB3, btw I have a 10C pro as well, that one works just fine with the Sena Device Manager. I'll wait for Sena to respond, I have an open ticket with them.

BTW We are not alone. Just found this on youtube, a random user that has the exact same issue with the Sena Utility on the iphone regarding the firmware update: https://youtu.be/HZN02ARnB1s

Never mind, the users video went private, no longer available...

I had the same problem. Frustrating to say the least. Finally found answer in the Outrush manual and from a suggestion from a Sena rep, instead of using the Sena Bluetooth Device Manager, use the Harley Davidson Device Manager one instead, it can be found at https://serviceinfo.harley-davidson.com/sip/content/document/view?id=1677974306491245884. The file sent by the Sena rep was; BoomAudioBluetoothDeviceManagerForWindowsBoomAudioBluetoothDeviceManagerForWindows-v1.8.2-setup (1) copy.zip. Set it up, gave me an error regarding 64bit but worked anyway. Started program, immediately recognized helmet and boom, firmware download and then found file on desktop from within the manger and updated. Hope this helps. Don't get wrapped up with the "Boom Audio" name, it works!

@Christopher Corrie, huge thanks, you fixed it :) I was able to install the 1.2 image

Son of a gun! Worked for me too, thanks. So apparently HD can get drivers signed for Windows 11, but SENA can't or won't. I was not about to disable secure boot on this expensive desktop.

Just bought the HD Outrush R helmet a week ago and was having the same issue. Used the HD app as mentioned above and it worked. SENA app was useless.

Got my Outrush R about a year and a half ago. I was having this same issue today. The Fix still works! I will help to elaborate for those who might struggle to figure it out like I did. Here is the English version of the Harley site: ISRQSG_1267029_1571025_en_US - Infotainment Support Resources | Harley-Davidson SIP
1. Click on the link and scroll to the section that says "wireless connectivity, Headseats"
2. click on the "BOOM_Bluetooth_Device_Manager_Windows_x64"
3. Save or install to your computer.
4. Run the file wizard by clicking on the program after it is finished installing or downloaded.
5. An HD Device Manager will appear, much the same look as the useless Sena one.
6. Follow the instructions to update the firmware
7. Viola! Helmet updated! Hope this helps other frustrated Sena users like me lol
