Fix for Harley-Davidson Outrush R: “Cannot connect to server”
If your Harley-Davidson Outrush R is detected by the normal Sena Device Manager but then shows:
“Cannot connect to server”
the issue may not be USB, drivers or the helmet.
The Harley-Davidson Outrush R uses a separate HD firmware branch. My unit identifies as:
-
Device:
HD OUTRUSH R -
Firmware family:
QCC_HDOUTRUSHR
What worked for me:
-
Do NOT use the standard Sena Device Manager.
-
Download the Harley-Davidson / Boom! Audio Bluetooth Device Manager:
https://oem.sena.com/harley-davidson/ -
Download the official HD-N03 OUTRUSH R firmware from Harley-Davidson:
https://serviceinfo.harley-davidson.com/sip/content/document/view?id=1883979889049579910 -
Connect the helmet via USB.
-
Open the Boom! Audio Device Manager and perform the firmware update with the Harley-specific firmware.
After switching from the normal Sena Device Manager to the Harley-Davidson Boom! Audio Device Manager, the firmware update completed successfully.
Posting this because I found several HD users running into the same “Cannot connect to server” issue.
