Please perform both a Factory Reset and a Fault Reset on your 10C while your 10C is connected to your computer and is charging. As for updating the firmware, download the v2.0 firmware file from our website here http://www.sena.com/category/firmware/firmware-10c/ and install it manually which should prevent the error of the firmware being corrupted from happening.

Got exactly the same problems. Firmware upgrade stops at 8% with "Firmware corrupt - try again".
After this the camera has stopped working and won't recognize the 32gb Kingston SD card.

Before this the unit worked flawless with 64gb Kingston SD card and 1.0.4 firmware for over a month.

Intercom and blutooth functions are intact with previously installed 1.0.4 firmware, but 2.0 firmware refuses to install after 8% process.
The linked firmware upgrade 2.0 website does not work today.

Updating the firmware manually is still done through the Sena Device Manager. You just click the Browse... Button, select the firmware file then hit the Update Button towards the bottom of the program and it will begin updating the headset.

Done as described. No joy. Firmware corrupt report as before.

Firmware restore is also failing at 8% as shown in enclosed picture.

Factory reset and Fault reset done as described.

Still no success updating. Even restore to  firmware 1.04 or 1.0 stops at 8% with message as shown about corrupt firmware.
This now boils down to the 2.0 firmware apparently having killed the camera and firmware update function.

I had the same problem when I was using a Sandisk Micro SD card. I switched to a Lexar and the problem went away immediately. Hope that helps someone.

Can Sena please confirm which SD-card manufatcturers actually work and which SD card format type is compatible with the Sena 2.0 firmware upgrade?

I've had no success with Kingston 64gb, 32gb or 4gb SD cards so far. There must be some compatibility issues here not sorted out.

Should make no difference which SD card brand we use, as long as format is fat32.

What puzzles me is that a 64gb Kingston has worked without a hiccup since I bought the unit a month ago. Excellent video recordings and flawless operation.

The 1.0.4 upgrade went without hiccups several weeks ago - on that same 64gb Kingston SD card.

Is there any solution to this issue?

I'm having the EXACT same problem - stops at 8% with firmware corrupted error.

I can't format the card in the camera because the camera doesn't let me get into settings - I can start the camera, but then nothing happens if I press the button for 8s or longer.

    All resets attempted and failed.

This is my third Sena 10C. The other two have been replaced under warranty because they stopped being recognised by Windows. Now, windows wont recognise it as a device even though the Sena Device Manager sees it. I too have the 8 second failure. Will I need a fourth Sena 10C or will you people finally fix this issue?

Oh damn, that's terrible news, I've got a replacement coming from Amazon... had I known that the new ones are having the same issue...

Sena it would be nice to hear whether this device is actually upgradeable... as it seems to be killing your product left and right.

OK as an update, my replacement camera has arrived and firmware installation on it went flawlessly. I didn't try the upgrade with my Sandisk card (first camera might have died because of this incompatibility), instead I went straight with an 8GB Lexar. In my opinion, there is no fix for the 8% error, at that point the camera is pretty much dead, so if you're hoping for a fix and are still in your warranty period - send it in immediately.

The Australian importers, Adventure Cams in Perth, are aware of this issue and are making inquiries. As I said earlier here, this is the third Sena10C I've owned, two and three both replaced under warranty. Looks to me at this stage that I'm looking at No.4. Adventure Cams tell me that I'm the only person in Australia to have had the 10C die twice. Now it looks like I'm the only person in the world to have the 10C replaced three times. Makes me wonder if some people are just cutting their losses and throwing the thing into the garbage bin where, sad to say, it seems to belong.

Well that's not surprising to be honest, they don't have a solution because at that point the firmware in the unit itself is probably corrupted making an update impossible. I would suggest you just send it back, and get your money back. It's not worth the trouble. If it was my third failure I'd be really pissed off.

If I was in your shoes I would probably go for a small Sena communicator and a Prism tube or a Ghost or a GoPro Session.

It would be nice if Sena could respond in this thread in relation to this current problem. What about the other users with the same problem, are they just telling them to get a refund as well? Something's not right here.

Dan Tyson - try Googling Disabling Driver Enforcement In Windows 7 and 8. Disable it and see if this will allow Windows to see your device.

Windows sees the 10C as a USB input device and assigns a generic driver accordingly. I don't know how to force Windows to assign the Cambridge Silicon Radio driver. I did the disabling driver enforcement to no avail.

Im having all of the same issues, with none of the solutions working to solve the problem.

Ive swapped sd cards, formatted both of them, tried to update and the image file is corrupt on windows 7 @8%,  and on a macbook i get the error code of cannot get status @ 4%

I have done both resets, factory and fault, and tried through all of the offered solutions again to no avail.

There is absolutey no reason why i should have to update my firmware to get the video recording function as advertised on the product.

The store i bought it from has a no return or exchange policy, though they are being very considerate since i bought it 2 days ago and are going to special order on for me.

I am not confident in that it will do anything different though since there are so many people that have run into the same issues.

The time will most likley come where i will have to file a complaint with the attourney general and the BBB due to this problem.

Also now that i have force reset and attemted to manually install the firmware as suggested here, i can no longer revert to previous firmware.

    Why is the firmware corrupt?

It seems to be a sham to buy the company time.

This is a new product so why would i have to disable driver enforcment on a post 2010 computer?

because it is not in fact, PLUG AND PLAY

Why does it say on the update page i have to register a nonworking device to my name to gain acess to the update file?

SO IM STUCK WITH IT AND THE GOVERNMENT CAN TRACK MY HELMET

The update file is in fact available for download yet the software tool is not easy to find, futhering my point that it is a sham

Why do i have to update it to get basic features?

BECAUSE ITS A LIE AND TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE

Why should i have to go out and buy a nearly 400$ product that does not work for no apparent reason and get shafted by a company that promotes itself as being outstanding riders at the leading edge of technology?

BECAUSE ITS A LIE AND ANYTHING BUT OUTSTANDING

Reading through the comments and I'm experiencing the same frustration.  This will be my third Sena 10c that I've had experiencing the same issues however I'm now seeing that this is not an isolated incident.  It appears Sena is making faulty product.  I was a fan of Sena products however I'm convince that experiencing the same issues more than once, I will be returning my 10c tomorrow.  The last thing that I want is to have an accident and not have it on video (should legal issues arise) I'm done buying Sena product altogether.

I've read the forums and I have EXACTLY the same problem. Won't record video, just beeps. Tells me the camera is on and I can turn it off, for all the good it does since it won't take video or stills.

And yes, same symptoms when trying to reset the device. I've swapped memory cards, I've reset to the factory settings. I've performed multiple fault resets. NOTHING.

Sena, this is the first and last product of yours I will ever purchase. I'm re-mounting my GoPro 4 Session. You guys need to figure out how to QA your products, and if this turns out to be some kind of flash memory card compatibility issue, you really should consider providing sufficient integrated memory in future designs. How much does 32GB of flash memory cost? $10 now?

OK, an Update. Sena has replaced my 10C again, I'm now on my fourth. Here's what I've learned.

    1. Never connect the 10C to your PC or Laptop.

    2. Adjust your settings through the Sena smart phone app.

    3. If the device needs a firmware update, take it to your dealer and let them do it.

    4. Remove the sd card and slot it into a generic card reader and dump your files onto your PC or laptop that way.

I've just got back from a ride through and around the Australian Snow country where extremes of wind and tempreature had only the slightest effect on the 10C At one point, during an other worldly wind blasting episode, I got several messages telling me the intercom had failed, it wasn't on. This was the only issue. Other than that, it performed flawlessly.

Here is the 40 minute video I posted to Youtube after edititing down several hours of footage.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssrvAFMPwA0

As you can see, the quality of both video and audio is first class.

There isn't anything else quite like the 10C on the market and if you follow the guidelines I've set out at the top of this post, you can't go wrong.

There is clearly a flaw in the 10C/PC interface area somewhere, probably something to do with the Sena Device Manager and Sena desperately need to sort that out but until they do, my solution is a useable stop gap measure.

    Hope this is helpful.

Problem solved! The 10c software can be updated on a Macbook with no problems. I used a 4gb sd card and updated the firmware. After i updated it i formatted a 256gb and put it in and it works with no flaws.. now to get used to the buttons. Lol. Good luck everybody!

after searching, searching, and more searching i found nothing until now. IF everyone is still having the same issue mine just worked. here is what i did.

    1. format sd card FROM SENA(video link how

    to ---->https://youtu.be/Ff7wR5SOSkM)

    2. run sena device manager AS ADMINISTRATOR

    3. thats it! i REALLY HOPE this helps it worked for me if not for you mah bad. so far other than "use a mac" i saw zero answers.

if you are having issues recognizing device. Make sure you use a DATA micro usb cable. they all will charge, not all will transfer data

    ;)
