FM radio stops working
Hi, I try to connect a 10U, a Zümo 590LM, an iPhone6 and another 10U and do not succeed in doing so.
I can connect the 10U to the Zümo and have gps instructions sent to my head set.
I can connect the remote control to the 10U.
I can turn on FM radio using a 1" push on the rear button of the remote control.
This combination works for a certain amount of time, but after some instructions from the gps, radio does not turn back on and remains silence.
At that time no other radio related functionality is available. If I try to put on the radio with a 1" push on the rear button from the remote control, I hear "FM OFF".
No matter how many times I execute a 1" push on the rear button, each time I hear "FM OFF".
All I can do is turn the head set off and back on again and restart connecting the devices.
When I get it working again, after some instructions from the gps, the radio does not turn back on and remains silence ... and we can start all over again ...
Off course I have tried resetting every thing. Off course I use the latest firmware on all devices.
I have this every time, no exception !
Can this be solved ?

Hi, I have been doing some more testing ...
Yes this happens EVERY time and ALL the time ! This morning I had to restart the 10U three times on just a 45 minutes ride.
It can even be produced not being on the road !
I put my Zümo in simulation mode on a route so it gives driving instructions at every cross road.
Start up the 10U and have it connected to the Zümo and also to the remote control unit.
Push the rear button for 1" to launch the FM radio on a preset channel. Chose whatever channel you want ...
Driving instructions are alternated with the sound of the FM radio : great !!!
You can change radio station, ... scan stations, ... still great ...
BUT, that fun only last a short time ! After some time radio does not come back one again after a gps instruction. Complet Silence !
At that time no other radio function is working any more. You cannot swtich to other stations, you cannot scan, ... there is NO more radio functionality available...
The only thing I can do is to power down the 10U and restart the connectiong procedure again.
After doing that, you are on for a certain time where it seems to work, until ... the radio remains silence again ...so you have to power down the 10U again ...
Can this be solved ?
I really would like to be able to enjopy my ride and not being forced to work the 10U all the time.

Can I do anything more specific ? Reproducing is not a problem, it happens all the time both on the road as in simulation mode. Are other details needed ?
Is this issue being watched ?

I've had this as well when playing music with my Zumo 590 and several Bluetooth headsets. I believe the Zumo is not releasing the Bluetooth link after it has given the directions so the music/radio channel remains closed. I don't think it is a Sena issue but is a Garmin problem. The easiest solution I have found is to turn of the Garmin Bluetooth settings/Bluetooth/ disable Bluetooth and after a few seconds turn it back on. Magically the Garmin Bluetooth resets and it works until the GPS locks the channel again. I had most problems after the Garmin said "at the roundabout take...." 0 -
It also occurred to me as a possibilty. But the Zümo just continues to give instructions as normal.
When the radio does not come back on, the 10U can no longer be operated from the remote control.
The only thing I can do is to shut down the 10U and restart it again. The Zümo is left working by itselfs and is giving visual instructions on the display, as I do not want to get lost ;-)
When Zümo is reconnected to the 10U, it keeps on sending instructions as nomal and I hear them in the 10U.
When the remote is reconnected, I can also use it normaly again.
I encounter lots of roundabouts bon my routes, but never made a correlation to losing the radio afterwards.

I'm facing the exact same problem! :,(
Totally annoying!
I've just opened a ticket...0 -
There will be a firmware update for the 10U coming soon to resolve this issue. We will post on this thread when it is available.

Please update the firmware on the 10U to v1.1 through the Sena Device Manager as this issue has been fixed.
