GoPro Voice Command Feature Summary
On June 21st, 2021 GoPro announced an initiative called “Open GoPro” that makes it easier for third party developers to integrate GoPro into their products. Several companies were mentioned in this press release including Sena.
“Companies already incorporating Open GoPro include:
- Sena Bluetooth® devices: Take voice-control of your GoPro using the built-in mics on the Sena Communications 50S and 50R headsets, ideal for motorcycle and other high-wind applications.” https://gopro.com/en/us/news/open-gopro-announce
A large number of our users use GoPro cameras to document their rides by having their cameras mounted to their motorcycle or to their helmet. Most of them intend to use their GoPro cameras for capturing their voice so that they can use the videos for motovlogging and other purposes.
Note: These are all of the commands that can be used with a Sena headset. There are additional commands in the manual for the GoPro that can be said to control the camera.
Note: Although our products can be used to control a GoPro camera remotely, our products cannot record audio to the GoPro wirelessly. Customers will still need to use a wired microphone to record the audio that they speak into their microphone and/or the audio that they hear from their speakers.
If customers want to record audio fully wirelessly while they are riding then Sena offers the 50C and the 10C EVO.
Compatible Sena Products and Firmware:
50S and 50R v2.2
Compatible GoPro Cameras:
GoPro Here 8, 9, 10, 11 and Max (These cameras support voice commands)
