SMH10 Firmware 5.1.2
I noticed the SMH10 got a firmware release yesterday for version 5.1.2. The release notes said:
- Improved compatibility with Bluetooth onboard audio systems
- Minor bug fixes in multi-way intercom connection during Bluetooth Audio Pack or Prism reconnection
- Minor bug fixes in Siri voice recognition
- Minor bug fixes in noise during use
Did anyone manage to download the firmware as it seems to have been removed. The latest now shows 5.1.1 again.
I was keen to try it out in the hope it would remove the audio crackling in my headset.
Anyone managed to download it?

Hey Hey
Yea, I just downloaded it now.
5.1.2.
Will be testing it out on wednesday night.
Will report back then on how it sounds.
I get a terrible noise crackling even with the small wind clip and microphone sock over my partners mic. Hope this makes a difference as well as repositioning it nearer side of mouth.

The audio crackle I was getting was more like a radio interference rather than microphone. It was intermittent, but it hasn't yet done it since i upgraded the firmware to 5.1.2. Will report back in a few days as to whether it's now fixed.

I'll be testing firmware 5.1.2 on 4 SMH10's, 2 of which paired with 2 Motorola MU350R bluetooth radios. This has previously had some odd and seemingly inconsistent behavior.

Update: It had been a while since I used these intercoms. Forgot about multipoint pairing for bluetooth devices. I have been able to get the MU350R's to easily pair through a multipoint connection. So far things seem alright. Checking out a few things now.
Well I've haven't had any luck getting the SMH10 with firmware 5.1.2 to pair with a MU350R through universal intercom pairing. I've tried clearing all pairings on both the SMH10 and MU350R....still no luck.

Chase - the MU350R (or any other external device other than intercom devices) does not connect via universal intercom pairing. Pair it as you would a phone. If you have a phone already paired then use the secondary mobile phone pairing. Hold jog dial until you hear intercom pairing then release and tap the phone button once within 2 seconds. Headset is now in pairing mode. Place the MU350R in pairing mode. Both should pair up within a short period of time. Hope that helps.

Hello, i'm having problems with the firmware update. It's stuck on 90% and don't do anything. I have a SMH10, upgrading firmware from 5.1.1 to 5.1.2. Does anyone is having the same problem?0

I'm having the same issue with the process stopping at 90%. Is there a solution to this problem?

Can you download and save the firmware update to your local device and install from there? Too often an internet connection gets a slight interrupt, some routers change the DNS every so often so downloading a large file and installing in in one operation can be problematic. Besides, if you save the firmware update locally, you can reload it if something gets corrupted.

I realize this is a old string of posts, but just had this issue today with a pair of SMH10 bluetooth devices. After installing & deleting the blue tooth manager application multiple times from my Windows 10 (64 bit) machine, utilizing multiple micro USB cords, hard reset, soft reset, etc., my firmware update was still stuck at 90% on one of the SMH10s.
Michelle (Sena customer service) suggested loading the blue tooth manager on another Windows PC and attempting to update the firmware from a second PC. That worked the first time. Hope this helps someone. Kurt
