I hear myself talking
I have a Nexus 5, connected in media mode only to the Sena 20S. The Sena is also connected to the BMW Navigator 5. And this one is connected to my phone.
Calling works, but in some cases 1/4 of the phone calls, I suddenly hear myself. So I say HELLO and I hear back HELLO (a bit later). The funny thing is that the person that I'm calling experiences the exact same thing. It's possible that this stops after a couple of seconds, but mostly I need to disconnect and call them back.
I've had this with multiple people.
Anybody else experiencing this?

Have you enabled the sidetone setting? Because that would explain you hearing yourself.

Sorry for the late response. No I haven't enabled that. And the phone call goes well for a certain amount of time and then I start hearing myself. And as I mentioned in my original post: the person I'm calling is hearing himself/herself as well, so everything anybody says you hear again one second later. But you don't hear each other anymore.
Then I hang up and need to call back. This is happening A LOT to me (1/3 of the phone calls!).
Nobody else is experiencing this?
I'm using Navigator V and Nexus 5. The Nexus is connected to the GPS for phone calls and directly to S20 for music.

I've heard that echo effect just using my iPHone (no Sena involved). In the many phone calls using my Sena, the sidetone worked pretty well. It has never echoed. (Ive had mine for a month now.)

I have the exact same problem. This is a problem with the Nav 5 and NOT the Sena. I've been working with Garmin on this for months now. They are fully aware of the issue. The current experiment they have me trying which might end up being a workaround is to clear your history of past rides and to stop it from saving history. When I did the last update to the Nav the problem went away for about 2 weeks and then came back with a vengeance. I cleared my history and stopped it from saving history and the problem is gone again. The tech thinks that it may be running low on some form of internal memory as the history fills up. I also found by turning off the traffic app the problem stops. All of this points to a processor overload issue. In any case, stop and clear your history and see if the problem goes away. Please let me know. Marc 0 -
Aha! Ok I'll also contact Garmin so they know more people are having this issue. I'll try clearing the history.
Thanks.
