Check to see if navigation app support is on.  If you want the music to duck down when talking this needs to be off.  Then you can adjust the intercom overlay sensitivity.  Personally, I like to have the nav app support on and have the music playing throughout the conversation at a low level without ducking.  I adjust the music volume with the phone and overall volume level with the jog dial.

Thanks. That did seem to do the trick although I'm not sure if I like it that way because it doesn't go as seamlesly as advertised.

I will play around with it some more.

Music ducking down is quite tricky as the sensitivity issue needs to be messed with quite a bit.  Too little sensitivity and your voice may not activate the intercom quick enough or your voice volume drops and the conversation breaks up, and too much will duck the music at every little noise or wind gust that is picked up.  It was so annoying to me that I just put nav app support on and adjust the the music level on the phone so that I could here conversation all the time and music played in the background, just like if we were riding in a car enjoying music but also conversing.  Music ducking is a nice idea but for me it is too distracting to be useful.
